So it recently came out that a white skinned stuntwoman did some stunts for a fantasy character coded as desi/Romani, could you do an Espinosa/segment talking about race/gender in stunts? Especially since it seems to me like stunt work takes a lot of specialized talent and i don’t know if show runners would always be able to find a person that fit the ethnicity/gender of characters doing stunts

5:53 As far as I know a stiletto is a dagger and the term isn't used to describe a sword just because it is double edged. I think the most accurate classification for Blade's sword would be a jian, which is a double edged Chinese sword. Really you could say it is any sort of double edged two handed sword, but I am going with a jian because Chinese swords usually didn't have cross guards like their European counterparts.

I'd love to see a whip episode. Dual whips from Underworld, Antonio Banderas as Zorro, Swenson in The Rundown, Jason Scott Lee with the blade whip in Dracula 2 Ascension etc. Anthony De Longis is getting up there in age but this dude helped choreograph and train actors with whips, swords and knives from some of the biggest movies including Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman. Ultimate irony of JCVD who is a real badass pretending to be a guy that pretended to be a real badass. At least we got the most memorable tournament fight movie of the decade out of it.

Great episode 😁👍👍 but just disappointed they didn't properly acknowledge kali/eskrima as a Filipino martial arts but rather attribute it as Japanese. 😅 Yeah it's been adopted all over the world and used in movies for a very long time but to this day i haven't seen someone properly accredit the branches of these martial arts to their proper origin. All other martial arts are well known but Filipino martial arts, Kali, knife fighting, etc. especially in movies are rarely properly acknowledged.
