That makes Dwight ungrateful to his current life right now. That the motivation of his decision was because he wants to mess with Jim and not because he is about to marry the woman he loves, grateful that he becomes the regional manager that he longs for since S1E1 and owns a building and a farm. It's just not a great character development if he chooses to mess with Jim.
